FA-18C Aggressors BFM Campaign Now Available for the OpenBeta

We are pleased to announce that ED have released our FA-18C Aggressors BFM Campaign for the OpenBeta!

The campaign puts you in the cockpit of an FA-18C Hornet, as a new Aggressor pilot with VFC-12 the "Fighting Omars" on loan to the 65th Aggressor Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base.

Based on real world procedures you will fly as Red Air against Blue Air Forces. Upon arrival you will fly a familiarization flight around the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR). Then you will face a series of challenging Basic Fighter Maneuver (BFM) missions against similar and dis-similar aircraft.

Your opponents include the F-4E, F-5E, F-14A, F-15C, F-15E, F-16C, F/A-18C, M-2000C, MiG-29G, CF-188, MiG-21 and Su-27.

Additionally there are 12 single player practice missions with in-air starts so you can perfect your BFM tactics, techniques and procedures.

There are over 1000 voice-overs and over 45 pages of briefing material including the RED FLAG Spins, Red Forces In Flight Guide, Maps, Diagrams, Custom Knee-boards and Mission Data cards.

Enjoy!

  1. Just bought your campaign and flew the first to missions. I am aa bit disappointed by now. You stated it is Ramp to Ramp but there is no time to perform a Rampstart right now. It seems you really want people to perform the autostart.
This is your decision but in my opinion it doesn't match the generell design with all the needed calls and procedures. A lot of people might be good with just press the autostart button but I am not.
Maybe you can implement a ready to taxi call for the player and let Ford 1-1 wait until that, delay the take off times so we get a chance to perform a full Rampstart.

  2. We had to design it to support the quickest ramp start possible to ensure the AI was able to fly with the player to the range. However the AI will orbit at waypoint 2 and should join up after the player is airborne. There is no time limit on the ramp start so you can take as much time as you need.

  4. You can enable labels in the Gameplay Options in the Main Game Menu. On the main game page select the cog wheel icon at the top of the page and then the gameplay tab. The labels option is near the bottom left corner. Your choices are NONE, FULL, ABBREVIATED or DOT ONLY.

    1. It's a known game engine bug. This thread shows a workaround until ED fixes it: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3997525&postcount=45
