A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign Released on the ED Store

We are pleased to announce that ED have released our updated A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign.

The professional voice overs really make a difference in our opinion.

The MFM Rebate Program will continue for this campaign as well so if you had purchased it from the MFM website we will rebate your original purchase price on proof of purchase of the ED Store version.

We have many more campaigns in the pipeline and will share information about them when we can.

F-5E vs MiG-21 Grudge Match!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to point you at a Forum Thread that my good friend Hook from the BlackKnights and Stingers has created.

They just finished the 2nd event and a 3rd is planned.

Hook did the play by play and did a damn fine job of it in our opinion.  If you get a chance it's well worth watching the twitch feed video here.

We decided to co-sponsor the event as we are developing the F-5E Campaign and have offered the winning team a free t-shirt from our cafepress site.

We have added both the MiG-21 and F-5E images to our product line and updated the graphics and titles for all the images.

Congrats to the winning team (Team Tiger) and to all pilots and everyone who participated to make an outstanding event.

We look forward to more of Ramsey's Grudge Match Series as they are extremely entertaining.  I'm sure you will enjoy watching them too.

Good Hunting!

July Update!

We have had a very busy time since our last blog post.

What have we been doing?

1. We updated all the voice overs in the A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign (AAT) with professional recordings.  The missions were all retested and the package has been given to ED for their review and release.  We can't say exactly when it will be available in the ED store but we believe the voice overs take the campaign to the next level.  Many thanks to Grayson Frohberg for doing a great job!

2. We are doing the same thing for the A-10C Tactical Training Qualification Campaign and we hope to update the already released A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification Campaign at some future point as well.  The professional voice overs really make a difference in our opinion.

3. You probably noticed in the DCS Newsletter today the following line:

"Extended Campaign for the F-5E by Maple Flags Missions Developer (not included in the module package)".

We were contacted in May to do a campaign for the F-5E.  It has been in development ever since.  It is an NTTR based campaign and very much in keeping with the teaser video (see below). Release date is TBD and everything is subject to change.

4. Lastly we recently updated to the Oculus Rift and what an experience that has been.  If you have not had a chance to try it out, it really is a game changer.  The sense of immersion is remarkable and though the graphics resolution is not on par with 4K TVs you lose yourself in the immersion so quickly it's a very easy trade-off.

Lots of good stuff coming to DCS and we have lots of campaigns in development.  We look forward to the 2.5 release when the Alpha and Beta's combine into a single instance.

Happy flying!

Oculus Rift CV1 Review by our Squadmate - Hook!

Our squadmate Hook has done an excellent full review of the Oculus Rift CV1 including unboxing, basic setup and some in game DCS video.

If you are on the fence about VR I suggest you watch his video and you will be convinced it's the next evolution of flight sim technology.

MFM Campaign Rebate Program Now In Effect!

We have had many loyal customers that have supported us to this point and we will not forget them as we continue to develop new campaigns for this great simulator.

Given that we cannot transfer your previous purchase to ED we have decided to introduce a rebate program.

On proof of purchase of the new campaign in the ED Store we will rebate the full amount previously paid to MapleFlagMissions via your Paypal account ($4.99 USD).

How will this work?

1. Starting May 1st send a copy of your proof of purchase for the new ED Store Campaign to mapleflagmissions@gmail.com with some additional reference information (your name, SUID code and paypal account email used to purchase our missions).
2. If we can make a match to a record in our customer database then we will refund the $4.99 USD amount you originally spent on the campaign to your Paypal account.
3. This represents a nearly 50% discount on the current ED Store price after the rebate.

This also ensures ED gets the full revenue for moving to the better manager module system and will allow us to decommission the SUID/Mission Key system as effectively you are fully refunded for your previous MapleFlag purchase.

This is a huge logistical challenge for us which is why we have decided to start May 1st. Your rebate may not be immediately sent after you contact us in May owing to email volume but we will ensure it gets completed.

We will apply the same rebate to any campaign that ends up on EDs Store so those many customers that bought all our campaigns (10 in total) will not lose any money once they purchase the matching ED Store version.

We believe this is the best decision for our customers as it recognizes their previous purchase to the fullest extent.

For those that have already purchased the new campaign - many thanks! Please keep your proof of purchase handy so you can get your rebate in May when the program officially starts.

We will advise if there are any changes to the program.

Many thanks for supporting MapleFlagMissions and helping us get to this important milestone.

A-10C BFT Practice Missions Now Available in the ED Store DLC

The practice missions that were missing from the initial release are now in the campaign download.

Most of the practice missions are embedded in the campaign now so you can try them before the qualification mission.

You can also play them as single player missions outside of the campaign so you can perfect your tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) prior to trying the qualification missions.

3 of the practice missions were not appropriate for the campaign style of play so you can play them individually:

1. Interactive Start-Up Trainer Tester
 - This mission will have start-up procedure callout that will be highlighted if you don't select them within 10 seconds.  It's a great way to learn the position of switches and buttons.

2. Interactive Shutdown Trainer Tester
 - Similar to the Start-up Trainer this mission has you in a landing approach and does shutdown callouts after you clear the runway.  It's a great way to learn the shutdown procedure.

3. BFT06 - Spiral Dive, Lazy Eight and Forced Landing.  This mission starts you in the air just prior to the Spiral Dive maneuver.  It's a good way to learn these procedures without having to fly the whole mission.

To play these or any of the practice missions (or even the qualification missions) as single player missions consult this thread.

There are detailed instructions with screenshots to show you how to access and play these missions as single player missions outside the campaign.

We hope you enjoy these missions and hope that they make you a better A-10C Pilot.

Thanks.

A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification Campaign Now Available through the ED Store!

On Friday March 18th, ED released our A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification Campaign on their E-Store.

You can read about it here.

This allows the campaign to be downloaded and updated using the in-game Module Manager.

Unfortunately we were not able to transfer your previous MapleFlagMissions purchases to ED so you will need to purchase the new campaign directly from ED's E-Store if you want to get future updates and bug fixes.

A-10C Tactical Qualification Campaign Part B Updated

You can download the updated package here.

We corrected an issue found in TAC24 (and actually could exist in TAC23 and TAC25 as well).

It appears that there were issues with multiple group activations in the same trigger as well as the SAMs not being as dangerous as they used to be (AI tweaks?).

We have added extra trigger code to make the mission more robust to future AI changes so hopefully they will play properly in future updates.

Your mission key and password can be used to install these packages and your campaign progress will not be impacted as it is recorded in your logbook.

OpenBeta update will follow shortly.

F-15C BFT Campaign Updated!

We have updated the campaign to fix an issue introduced in a recent game engine updated.  BFT08 - Emergencies would not pass the Hydraulic Failure test as that failure now renders the F-15C unflyable.  We have removed that failure test allowing the mission to continue.  We also fixed a minor bug found in BFT10 - Instrument Flight Plan Navigation where a zone trigger could fire incorrectly if the player flew into the zone accidentally.

You can download the updated package here:

F-15C BFT Campaign

Your mission key and password can be used to install these updated packages and your campaign progress will not be impacted as it is recorded in your logbook.
